Gulmarg, Dec 19 (KNO): As this famous ski resort in North Kashmir braces for a fresh spell of snowfall amid a weather advisory, authorities in Gulmarg on Friday said they are fully prepared to keep life moving.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gulmarg, Jaliel Ahmed Mir, while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that all men and machinery have been put on alert, with two control rooms established at Gulmarg and Tangmarg to ensure swift response and minimal inconvenience to residents and tourists.
He said the administration is working in close coordination with Police and other line departments to ensure there is no inconvenience, adding that the electricity, road connectivity, water supply and other essential services are up to the mark and that every concerned department is ready to face any eventuality arising from the snowfall.
SDM Jaliel said they have already issued a public advisory in view of the anticipated snowfall in the area, and urged people not to park their vehicles along roadsides, as such parking hampers snow clearance operations and may delay restoration of traffic during heavy snow—(KNO)
